Sales Illustration
A document to illustrate and summarize insurance benefits of the Policy.

Policyholder
Any individual or corporate who fills in the Proposal and signs it as well as pays the Premium of the Policy.
Policyholder who is an individual residing in Vietnam and has full capacity of civil act under the provisions of law must be at least 18 (eighteen) years old at the time of filing in insurance Proposal and signing it.
Policyholder who is an organization must be legally established and is operating in Vietnam.

Company
Generali Vietnam Life Insurance Limited Liability Company operated under License No. 61GP/KDBH issued by the Ministry of Finance on 20th April 2011.

Proposal
Insurance application form filled by the Policyholder which constitutes an integral part of the Policy.

Surrender Value
An amount that the Policyholder will receive upon his/her request for an early termination of the Policy during the effective period of the Policy.

Policy Schedule
A certificate issued by the Company which forms an integral part of the Policy.

Criminal Act
An act defined as breach of criminal the government authority.

Policy
A written agreement between the Company and the Policyholder, in which Policyholder or its assignee (if the Policy has been assigned) and the Company commit to follow all provisions of the Terms and Conditions of the Policy.
Policy includes:
a. Proposal;
b. Policy Schedule;
c. Sales Illustration;
d. Terms and Conditions of basic product;
e. Terms and Conditions of riders (if any);
f. Any endorsement(s) and other written agreement (including any forms, declaration, answer sheet or medical evidence) of both parties

Policy Year
A duration of 01 (one) year from the Policy Effective Date or any Policy Anniversary Date.

Confinement
The admission of Life Assured to a Medical Facility as an In-patient staying overnight and continuously for the health care and treatment that are prescribed and performed by a Medical Practitioner. A discharge certificate is required for claiming the insurance benefit.

Premium Due Date(s)
Is/are the date(s) on which premium is due to the Company according to the premium frequency mode stated in the Terms and Conditions and the Policy Effective Date.

Policy Effective Date
The date on which the Policy becomes effective in accordance with the Terms and Conditions and specified in the Policy Schedule.

Policy Maturity Date
The date on which Policy expires as specified in the Policy Schedule.

Policy Reinstatement Date
The date on which the Company issues an acceptance letter of Policy’s reinstatement upon the request of the Policyholder or its assignee in the case where the Policy is lapsed as a result of unpaid due Premium(s).

Policy Anniversary Date
Refers to any annual anniversary of the Policy Effective Date specified in the Policy Schedule during the effective period of the Policy.

Policy Issuance Date
The date on which the Company issues the Policy Schedule after the Company has received and accepted the Proposal and the Initial Premium from the Policyholder. Policy Issuance Date is specified in the Policy Schedule.

Life Assured
Any individual residing in Vietnam who is accepted to be covered by the Company in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Policy.

Beneficiary(ies)
Any person(s) or corporate appointed by Policyholder to receive insurance benefits in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Policy. In case the Policyholder is an organization, the appointment of Beneficiary(ies) shall be subject to the agreement of Life Assured.

Premium
The amount payable to the Company by the Policyholder in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Policy.

Initial Premium
Refers to the premium being submitted by the Policyholder together with the Proposal.

Terms and Conditions
The document which lists the details of benefits and obligations of the Policyholder and the Company. The Terms and Conditions form an integral part of the Policy.

Insurable Interest
The ownership, possession, usage right, property right, rights and obligations to nurture and provide the relief for the Life Assured in accordance with insurance laws.

Sum Assured
The amount agreed by the Company and Policyholder and specified in Policy Schedule or any endorsement(s) (if any).

Insured Event
The events led to insurance payment request in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Policy.

Accident
An event or an uninterrupted sequence of events caused by the sudden impact of an external force or object to the body of the Life Assured beyond the intention and desire of the Life Assured, occurred while the Policy is in forced. The event or the uninterrupted sequence of events above must be the sole and direct reason and not related to any other reasons that caused disability and/or death to the Life Assured.

Disability
Any illness, diseases or injuries of the Life Assured covered under the Terms and Conditions including all complications and co-morbidities to an illness, disease or injury.

Total Permanent Disability (TPD)
The disability occurs while the Life Assured is covered under this Policy, resulting in his/her loss, paralysis or dismemberment of:
a. two arms; or
b. two legs; or
c. one arm and one leg; or
d. total irrecoverable loss of sight in both eyes; or
e. one arm and total irrecoverable loss of sight in one eye; or
f. one leg and total irrecoverable loss of sight in one eye.
In this case, total irrecoverable loss of sight in one or both eye(s) is considered as totally loss of eyes or sight in one/both eye(s) that cannot be rehabilitated; arm is considered as upper limb at or above the wrist; leg is considered as lower limb at or above the ankle.
“TPD” also mean the complete inability of the Life Assured; as a result of Accidental bodily injury, sickness or disease with disability level of 81% and above according to the National stipulation of schedule of injuries, schedule of losing labour capability by the State regulations.

Pre-existing Medical Condition
Sickness, disease or symptoms of illness or injury sustained by the Life Assured for which:
a. It impacts to the Insured Event;
b. She/He has or should reasonably have received relevant medical treatment or advice by a Medical Practitioner before the Policy Effective Date, unless otherwise noticed to and accepted by the Company;
c. She/He has specific symptoms (to be understood as signals which indicate for the diagnosis of illness and are listed in the underwriting and medical statement of the Proposal) which appear prior to the Policy Effective Date, or the latest Reinstatement Date of this Policy, whichever is the later unless otherwise noticed to and accepted by the Company.

Age of the Life Assured
Age according to the last birthday of the Life Assured on the Policy Effective Date and is used for Premium calculation.
